Around Poole Harbour

Another nice ride is round Poole Harbour.
Starting off in Bournemouth centre you can use the same "greenway" route as mentioned in the "Wimborne ride" and as you come into Wimborne take the CAstleman trail to Upton country park.
From there we have to use a couple of roads but they're not too busy. Heading through Lytchett Minster past St Peter's Finger Pub and to the Bakers Arms roundabout.
From here the council have recently made it a shared route alongside the busy road into Sandford. As with most cycle routes it's incomplete and doesn't take you all the way into Sandford. I find the best route is to head into the industrial estate and go through the Forest behind Sanford. This bring you out by the petrol station at Sandford. A bit of pavement to do (as the road is too dangerous) and you're on the old road into Wareham.
Stopping at Wareham Quay for an Isotonic sports drink(beer) is almost compulsory.
On through Ridge and through Rempstone Forest (although a stop at Corfe Castle isn't too far and recommended for more Isotonic fluid to be induced) back to the Studland ferry road.
The Studland ferry runs every 20 mins and taking a bike across costs £1. From there you head to Shore road where you pick up the promenade back to Bournemouth.
